Oasis Fall Retreat 2011

Sign up and reserve your spot for our Fall Retreat this year!  We’ll be returning to Camp Timber-Lee in Wisconsin to help serve them in a number of different needs they have maintaining their camp and getting it ready for the winter season.  And, of course, we’ll also have our share of fun, late night games, and incredible time as a group enjoying the weekend together!

Dates:  October 28-30, 2011

Cost:  $30 (before Oct. 19), $55 (after Oct. 19)


Print off your forms and permission slips and bring to Oasis next week!  You’ll need to have the Fall Retreat registration form, GBC Medical Form, and a Timber-Lee Release Form – get ‘em all on our Forms & Downloads page!

to children around the world

Feed My Starving Children

Packing Event

As a practical response to the Gospel, come and help pack food supplies for children who are in need of healthy nutrition in other parts of the world.  We will be joining other churches and people in the Elmhurst area to pack over 100,000 meals to be shipped around the world!

 

When:  Saturday, October 8 @ Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church

Time:  11am-2pm (actual packing from 11:30-1:30)

Meet:  At Grace, drive to Elmhurst CRC, return to Grace

Oasis has reserved spots for a 2 hour slot, but we need YOU to help fill them!

Mission:  Chicago

Saturday, Sept 24

11am-7:30pm

 

Join us for a day in downtown Chicago as we seek to offer hope and give life to people through sharing the Gospel.  We’ll also share copies of The Life Book and offer to pray for people and whatever needs they may share with us.

Sound a bit scary?  No worries!  We’ll help you overcome your fears and give you some help in sharing the Gospel before we go.  All you need to bring is an open heart and willingness to be used by God.

The Details:

When:  Saturday, September 24    11am-7:30pm
Where:  Meet at Elmhurst Metra Station (York Rd.) by 11am (train leaves at 11:13am).

Bring:  Your school ID (for discount train ticket), $$ for train ticket and dinner, a bag lunch, water bottle, good walking shoes, and a backpack (to help carry Life Books).

 

We’ll arrive back at the Elmhurst Metra Station at 7:12pm, with the option of going back to church to share stories and enjoy time together.

Oasis Summertime Schedule 2011

 

Oasis is meeting all summer long, and we want you to know what’s going on so you can join us!  All current high school students and incoming freshmen are invited to come and enjoy the summer with us!  See below for our weekly schedule and plans.  All times are 7-8:30pm, unless otherwise listed:

 

June 8:  Xtreme Trampolines Summer Kickoff! 7-10pm.  Meet @ church, cost: $10

June 15:  Sports Night @ Eldridge Park.  Join us for a night of softball, ultimate frisbee, and who knows what else?

June 22:  Bigger & Better! Meet @ church and then head out in the community with a penny.  The team that returns with the biggest and best item is crowned the grand champion.

June 29:  Oasis @ Nate & Addie Swartz’s house (375 Arlington Ave.).  Join us for a bonfire, games, snacks, and some good conversation.

July 6:  Oasis @ Alex & Christian Bravo’s house (231 Winthrop).

July 13:  Oasis @ GBC. We’ll share highlights from our Colorado trip, spend some time in worship & prayer, and playing some crazy games.

July 20:  Mini-Golf @ Holes & Knolls Mini-Golf in Glen Ellyn.  7-9:30pm.  Cost:  $6.  Meet @ church if a ride is needed (or just meet us at mini-golf).

July 27:  Oasis @ GBC. We’ll close out our weekly summer time with a night of worship, sharing, prayer, and encouragement as we look ahead to the start of the next school year.

August: No Oasis meetings.  We’ll be taking some time off to rest, refresh, and prepare for the upcoming school year!

If you would like to donate any items for the sale, please arrange pick up/drop off with Pastor Eric or drop them off at our sale location between Thursday evening, June 9 and Friday night, June 10.  We will use all proceeds for our Colorado trip, and donate all unpurchased items to a local mission or Goodwill.  No donations too small!  Questions?  Please contact Pastor Eric!

Join us for our first 2011 Oasis Summer Event!

 

in Carol Stream, IL

Join us for our Summer 2011 Kick off -
2 hours of trampoline bliss – indoors, off the walls, and even into a foam pit.

For a mere $10 you’ll be able to jump and enjoy the night with the rest of Oasis as we start the summer break.

We’ll also be welcoming our incoming freshmen to our group on this night!  Woo hoo!

The Details:

  • Meet @ church 7pm and return to church by 10pm.
  • Turn in form(s) and your $10 to Eric or at Oasis to get your name on the list.  (you’re not on the list until you turn $$ and forms in!)
  • Repeat above steps and invite your friends.

Oasis “Night At The Movies”

Join us for our Night At The Movies!

You make the movie…You are the stars.

We’ll spend the night pretending we’re in Hollywood making our own movies…..you’ll be given some random props and materials, a video camera, and the challenge to write your own script, cast your own characters, and film your own short movie.

Best of all – we’ll watch all of them at the end of the night, and enjoy some incredible desserts and drinks.

Get ready to “get Un’d” with the Gospel!

Join us for a weekend at Dare2Share, where you’ll be trained, equipped, and prepared to share your faith to your friends.  Greg Stier, Zane Black, DJ Promote, Propaganda, Shane & Shane will be there to teach and guide us in worship!  You don’t want to miss out!

Where:  Sears Centre, Hoffman Estates, IL

We had a GREAT weekend at Lake Geneva Camp & Conference Center for our Winter Retreat. Thanks to all of you who came and took the risk of exploring the Truth and how it affects our lives.

We didn’t get to all of the questions Saturday night that you wrote down, but will keep them and try to answer them in the near future. If you think of more questions to ask, write them down and let us know!

In the meantime, Let’s keep pursuing the truth that is found in Jesus Christ and expressing that to one another in love!

We love you guys!
